History of New Life Church:

In the summer of 1987, Pastor Richard and Sharon Buck sensed God directing them to begin a new church in the city of Dallas. Having been in pastoral ministry for over 20 years, they followed the leading of the Holy Spirit to establish a body of believers where praise and worship, the preaching and teaching of the Word, and the anointing would be central.

On August 30, 1987, on a Sunday evening with a crowd of over 150, New Life Christian Fellowship was born.

We began meeting at the Sheraton Hotel, located in LBJ Freeway and Jupiter Road in Dallas (currently the Holiday Inn), with the church office located in the home of Pastor Buck. In December 1987, after three months, the church office moved to an office space at the address of 11550 Plano Rd. After two years of meeting at the Sheraton Hotel and various other hotels on special occasions, we relocated to the Plano Rd. facility in August of 1989. Following several weeks of tearing down and erecting walls, we were able to begin meeting in its new facility still consisting of dusty cement floors, wooden platforms, and plastic folding chairs.

Much has been accomplished for the Kingdom since that time, including the opening of our new adjoining Youth Ministry facilities in March of 1995. We are excited about God's plan for New Life Church as we venture into the future, in our new location, continuing to ... Build our relationship with God, Build our relationship with one another, and Build a bridge to the unchurched.

The vision for New Life Church is a conviction and commitment that:

• Every person should have an encounter will the person of Jesus Christ.
• Every person will have the opportunity and be encouraged to be baptized in the Holy Spirit in order to become empowered for service and Christian living.
• Every person will be integrated into membership through the Doorway Class.
• Every person should discover their ministry gifts and operate in them.
• Every person shoul dbe integrated into our home cell ministry - Connection Groups.
• Every person should establish meaningful relationships within the body of New Life Church.
• Every person should feel ownership in the mission and vision of New Life Church.
• Every person should encounter quality and service excellence in the ministries and staff of New Life Church.

New Life Church Affiliations

New Life Church is affiliated with World Ministry Fellowship (WMF), and Pastor Richard Buck serves on WMF's Executive Board. WMF is a world-wide outreach and fellowship of ministers and is a stable and accountable organization both spiritually and legally.

The Fellowship functions under the oversight of a twelve member Executive Board, a twenty one member Advisory Board, and a twelve member credentialing committee, all of whom are mature Christian leaders with proven ministries. WMF was founded in 1963 for the purpose of fellowship among ministers who did not want to be limited by the bounds of a specific denomination.

WMF holds an annual Convocation in July in which ministers from numerous states, as well as nations, come together to be refreshed, charged, and energized, so that they may more effectively fulfill their call. It is at this gathering that the Holy Spirit supernaturally links ministers and ministries to draw from each other and join together to the this last harvest.

World Ministry Fellowship International is a fellowship of ministers, ministries, and churches located around the world which understands the need for ministerial interaction and communication. WMF's mission is to help ministers discover who they are, what they have, and what they can accomplish together through Christ Jesus our Lord.

At New Life Church, we believe:
